I really enjoyed this video of a home made spacecraft. It must have been so much fun doing it, and the images are amazing.

From the village of Selborne in Hampshire, up the Zig-Zag path to Selborne Common, leaving on the west side across to Wick Hill, then back to the village via Long Lythe
Deep into West Sussex, the 100 mile walk continued on Saturday. From Steyning, back west to pick up the trail then across the Adur valley to Truleigh Hill. Along the ridge past Fulking to Devil’s Dyke, major tourist attraction. Down to Saddlecombe and a last climb over New Timber Hill.
The ninth stage of my South Downs Way adventure, picking it up after a break over summer. Up to the downs from Amberley, the half way point, with amazing views to the north and south, to Chanctonbury Ring and the town of Steyning. The path really opened up during this stage as we move past Littlehampton and Worthing, towards Brighton.
Paint… the… whole… world… with… a… rainbow!
This theme suddenly popped into my head just now. What a fine, charming start to an annoying show!
The full version is perhaps a little much…
Here’s a clip for older children…
I enjoyed watching this mashery of two of my favourite films, The Big Lebowski and The Matrix.
On average, 1800 people every day watch something on my YouTube channel. Is that a lot? It seems like a lot. Perhaps worryingly 44% watch ‘You’ve Hit An Old Lady In The Face’
I read today that by the end of the year we will be able to rent movies on YouTube.
Follow the intrepid journey as one bag migrates to the Pacific Garbage Patch. Narrated by Jeremy Irons
Look out for the very hilarious break dancing at 27 and 42 minutes, and Kool Herc’s oversized car system. So old school it hurts.
I really like those slow motion glides!
My favourite recording artist, Mr Buck 65, has a new DVD: The Lost Tapes
And a series of new EPs each month for six months, celebrating 20 years in music: 20 Odd Years
Style AND content
From Friday night’s concert at Brockwood Park School, Horse With No Name with “Soviet army choir” singing from the audience. That must have been the man in the vest.
I have returned to making little videos from stills from the film. I very much prefer the pace of editing of the older films and in the last few days have seen Summer with Monika and Umberto D (video to follow).
Here’s the video for ‘Sommaren med Monika’:
Oh, I like this! The Star Wars Trilogy in two minutes and a bit.
Duncton. The best village name ever. I’m not biased.
From the village of Cocking, onto Heyshott and Graffham Downs. Mainly through woods this time. Then down the West Sussex Literary Trail past Duncton Mill to the Cricketers Pub.
The drizzle started pretty much as soon as I got on the high ground and didn’t much let up. Got steadily soaked, especially when walking through the drenched rape crop.
All new territory, deeper into West Sussex.
Jack went long and hairy! Nice song, nice video:
MC GURU died yesterday, aged 43. Intelligent lyrics, an even, steady style, no shouting, he was one of my favourite rappers, if not my all time favourite. I was hoping for another Gang Starr album at some point but it wasn’t to be… unless Premier pulls something out. No doubt Solar has some hidden gems too. I remember seeing Gang Starr at Reading Festival in the early 90s – what a great rapper. Short guy! I didn’t dig all of his Jazzmatazz stuff but respected it all.
Here’s one I really liked, from Jazzmatazz Vol. 4:
Time to make a change
’cause nothing stays the same
With discipline we can win
and escape the pain
The spark will be within
then hearts will beat again
What we’ve been taught
must be forgot
it’s time to see again
Up from the bottom
we rise like the cream
They can’t fool us nowadays
we’re too wise for their schemes
One from Step in the Arena – Form of Intellect. Reminds me of our student house in Southsea. It was a big day when Steve got hold of the album we’d heard some of on Westwood’s Capital FM show by hooking up a crazy complex aerial to get the signal from London. Requesting Gang Starr in all the dance music clubs, hassling the DJs.
The guru, nursing you with a verse spilled
Don’t choke, and don’t turn blue in a frenzy
Premier’s severe, on the steel wheels he lends me
Spontaneous cuts, but not mainly just that
It’s the scratching format, exact with maddening accuracy
Craftily, on the side or in back of me
Nastily, as if his name was dick dastardly
Original so get it, yo the gang gets respect
The chain and the star is a symbol, of this form of intellect

Permission to say “Cocking”. The sixth stage of my South Downs Way hike, West to East. From the village of Elsted in West Sussex, up through the woods onto the rolling downland before descending to the village of Cocking. Glorious spring day, feeling like early summer.
Very violent and very stupid, perhaps the funniest fight I’ve seen. From Pineapple Express.
The fifth stage of my South Downs Way hike, starting from Buriton in Hampshire, finishing in Elsted, West Sussex. Past the Vandalian Tower, Harting Down, and the second Beacon Hill of the Way, then to Treyford and Elsted in the Rother Valley.
I always feel West Sussex is an ‘odd’ county. I like it but it’s spooky and slightly weird. This tower didn’t help.
