The Silver Birch Moth Is Dead (239/365)
Birches and IKEA desks, alive or dead, it’s pretty camouflaged.
Does anyone know the correct name for this moth?
With today’s photo I have exceeded last year’s attempt at a photo a day.

Get up on the downs immediately, or your local equivalent. You won’t regret it. I am now as far as East Sussex into the hundred mile walk and my own two feet do testify. Such a marvel!
I didn’t go outside today (235/365)

Through the top right rung you can see the old shepherd’s caravan from the wood.

The Mud Hut Is Dead (231/365)
The site for the Pavilion buildings is really opening up now. This mud hut was built in the late 90s (I think) and wasn’t expected to last so very long. And now it is pretty much gone. A pine tree has also been felled but I understand that the surrounding trees will remain. With the large hedges around the garages gone too, for the first time today I could imagine the new buildings in place.

Six Feet Under (228/365)
I know I’d be dead and everything but I wouldn’t want to go down there. No, I’d much rather go up in smoke than down with the worms and things of the dark.

The Classic Road Runner Dispatch Mug (224/365)
Once upon a time at the southern end of the county of Hampshire, I worked for Road Runner Dispatch, a same day courier company. Back then they were in South Street, Havant and it was pretty much just Matthew Lipscomb and me running the office, with input from the owner, Kevin Edwards, with a team of maybe eight drivers. It was my first full time job and I stuck with it from 1990 until 1996. Later, my brother Martin also worked for them. I even had a company car – a VW Beetle.
I gave the mug to the school’s collection about 5 years ago and today I noticed it had turned up in the Centre, so I reclaimed it. The rota machine has taken its toll but I like it that way.
Check out the old number – 0705. Not a mobile number, this is the old Portsmouth area code, which changed twice since then.
